MY STORY
Gentle Roots was born from my personal journey - a journey that began in my childhood, learning from my mother and grandmother about self-healing and the power of natural remedies for holistic health. Those early lessons laid the foundation for my belief in the importance of clean, pure care.
As I navigated the challenges of new motherhood, I became increasingly frustrated by the lack of truly natural and non-toxic skincare options for both myself and my newborn. This frustration sparked a passion that would lead me here. Recognising the need for something better, I made the decision to leave my role as a bank manager to fully dedicate myself to creating products that families like mine could trust and love.
As a new mum, my commitment to a cleaner, healthier lifestyle for myself and my baby girl fuelled my determination to create something better. I began experimenting more, driven by the desire to formulate pure and non-toxic products that were truly free from harmful chemicals and preservatives - products I could trust on my baby's delicate skin and that would address my own challenges.
We started to use what is now the Nourish Balm, free from toxins and unpronounceable ingredients, to heal her eczema and nappy rash while also nourishing my own skin. The relief it provided was immediate, my irritated skin began to heal, and so did hers.
After expanding my focus to tackle postpartum hair loss and hormonal skin, I wanted a gentle yet effective detox solution that my daughter and I could both enjoy. That’s how our Ultimate Detox Mask was born, a versatile formula that can also be used in the bath to help us both detoxify from heavy metals and impurities. This mask clears the skin, draws out toxins, and leaves it deeply purified and refreshed. Each new product was born from a real need, crafted with the same care and attention as that first balm.
Today, Gentle Roots offers a range of non-toxic, pure, and naturally sourced self-care products suitable for the whole family, with more to come! Each item is handmade with simple, clean, and pure ingredients; a testament to my unwavering commitment to quality and safety.
